Le Physalis
A moment to unwind in the city.
Perched on the 2th floor of an Akasaka 2-chome building, Le Physalis delivers meticulously crafted classic French courses from amuse-bouche to dessert.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set along a lively dining street in Akasaka 2-chome, Le Physalis sits on the 2th floor, reached by a stairway leading up from street level. Inside, the rectangular dining room arranged with classic table settings provides an intimate, tranquil counterpoint to the busy neighborhood outside, ideal for focusing on a meal without distraction.
Lunch offerings—whether the plat du jour or full set menus—open with smooth mousses and other delicate amuse-bouches before advancing to carefully cooked mains. Meat courses showcase classical technique, featuring hearty red meats paired with deeply savory reductions, or Daisen chicken thigh braised slowly in red wine with sweet root vegetables. Fish dishes, such as herb- and sun-dried-tomato-accented pan-seared catches, arrive with vibrant sauces that call for extra bread.
Desserts carry that same measured balance through to the finish. A cherry mille-feuille accented with mascarpone ice cream and a classic gateau chocolat paired with pistachio ice cream contrast warm, crisp pastry notes with cool sweetness. Coffee or tea arrives afterward, extending the meal into an unhurried conversation.
Evenings invite a slower pace over glasses of wine, Champagne, and an assortment of French cheeses. Because table seating is limited for both lunch and dinner, reservations are the most reliable way to secure a spot.
